American serama thread!

She is doing so well, I'm so proud of this little fighter!
Gets sweeter and more used to people everyday and I can see feather growth everyday!
I think I'll pick up some feather fixer for her this coming weekend. Oh and she loves later shells!

I have a few two month old serama that I'm planning on selling, but have no idea what a fair price would be for "pet quality".

Any suggestions???

I'd love to hear some suggestions as well.

In my experience, I think it depends on the demand in your area (unless shipping) and the platform or venue where you're selling. I'm very new at this but my current pricing scheme for birds around the same age is around $10 for cockerels and $20-$30 for pullets. If it's a silkied then maybe $5 extra for that bird. Or $5 less if it's an extra long-backed or otherwise gawky looking bird. Selling on Craigslist seems to be difficult where I live. Selling at a swap, easier. If selling on Craigslist I may lower my price a bit to make a sale. Right now I've got a CL ad up for young cockerels at $5-10 and after two weeks I've only had one reply. I have an easier time selling large fowl.

Thank you for your reply. Your pricing is about what I had in mind. I do have a Japanese rooster that I'm asking more for..

Shipping is usually too expensive to consider with pet quality birds.
I'm thinking of offering a bulk deal of 3 pairs of 2 month old birds for $300.
They're still young enough to all ship together at 2 months of age.

Thank you for your reply. Would/could you post a picture of one of the pullets? To compare with what I have. Only because I wonder about the quality of what I have. This will be the first serama that I'm selling.

My hens laid 5 eggs yesterday so I didn't think I'd get any today and they laid 6!
Good! I'am surprised how well my hens lay as when I read about them when I first started the literature said that serama were poor layers. Once they got going, my hens are laying three days on and one day off. Still waiting for Midget to lay after that shell less egg.
