Wvduckchick have you read about clan breeding? I think I'm going to try it. Found it on the internet of course. From what I read you can go years without adding new stock. I have limited space so I'm going to give it a go .View attachment 1506670 View attachment 1506673

I have a friend that breeds in a rotational process, but never heard it called Clan breeding. Interesting. My problem with it would be determining the hen. It would be easier to clan them by their father, for me. Wonder if that would still apply? Will have to look into it further.
I’ll also check with that friend and see how he actually rotates his flocks.
I try to give broodies eggs from opposite pens, so they raise young that they didn’t actually parent, so that mixes my bloodlines when I leave some offspring there.
