American serama thread!

Here's my little silkied serama chick. She's imprinted on me & peeps as soon as she hears my voice. Poor girl is afraid of any other serama. I put her on the basement floor with a hen who was about 4' away, eating some treats. The chick went screaming and flapping for its life away from the hen and jumped up into my lap. The hen didn't even look up and simply ate the scratch.

:gigClearly she figures she's a human and is afraid of that strange feathered thing you put her near.

Poor baby. Cookie won't take her in?
Cookie lives in the main coop. She raised almost all of the LF chickens in there. She readily adopts chicks when broody, but she's not broody right now. The seramas require supplemental heat in winter, so that's why they're separated into the little coop. The goal is to get the chick in with the seramas...... but she feels she's a house chicken and prefers the company of humans.

Pablo lives in a large tub in the kitchen with his 3 girls. At 11 ounces he's twice as

Hi Pablo :frow

Here's Angel. (A silkied serama hatched in late summer) It looks like she's finally developing a comb. Perhaps we'll see her tiny eggs soon.

Hi Angel,

You are one, absolutely gorgeous chicky. Wanna get together for a nice dust bath and dinner of meal worms a boiled egg?

Pablo (sigh, I think I'm in love:love)

:lau
Angel enjoys long free range walks and hanging out under the pine tree. She's looking for that special cockerel to crow, tidbit, and dance for her. She loves the frizzled look!

Too bad it will have to be a long distance romance since Pablo live a couple states away.

Pablo likes to sit in my lap each morning while I drink my morning coffee and crows to welcome the day. Being less than 10 ounces, he's not much of a fighter and spends most days in the kitchen where he won't be picked on by a much bigger brother. He's looking forward to the day when he can find an "Angel" of his own.

Angel,

Guess what?? I have brand new baby brothers and sisters hatching today; just one so far-3 more eggs to go. It's really yucky outside so I'm gonna spend the day indoors. How about you? Is the sun shining where you are? Breakfast was rather blah. Just some mash and scratch feed. Where da beef (meal worms and boiled egg).

Sincerely, :frow
Pablo
