These are candid photos of my dogs and birds just having a good ole time in the dirt. They were keeping me company while I was cleaning up the yard today. The pretty white rooster is Cara's "Taylor". He's feeling much better these days.

I have no clue what color you would call them, but they are pretty. I notice the rooster's comb is a little dark. Is that from stress? I know some birds relocate easier than others. I will be getting my first seramas in about a month, and I am pretty excited. I'm in the process of building some pens for them right now.

I think that the comb color is from stress, they were driven from Alabama to Missouri. The breeder comes to our fall Farmer's market festival every year. They are currently in quarantine at my house. So far no signs of any illness. I am hoping his comb will lose that dark color. Besides stress, is there anything else that can cause that color? The older pullet has been giving me an egg a day for the past week, so she has settled in nicely. I put 2 of them in the bator last week, one is developing nicely, the other had a blood ring and had to be tossed. I have heard that they take less time to hatch than regular chickens. Is this true?

If you look at my pics above, my mottled cockerel has a dark reddish burgundy comb. He's not sick, or stressed, that's just how he is. The white rooster's comb is actually pale, because he is recovering from some trauma. His is normally much deeper red.

That is a good ? i'm not sure yet still trying to figure that out i think you would call him calico maybe ? all i know is i just love him ! i need gumbii to take a guess at his color . where you at gumbii ?
