American serama thread!

Do Seramas go broody much? I would prefer that, seems a lot easier, but I wasn't sure if they were a very broody breed.

I was thinking of getting one anyway to hatch Faverolles and Ameraucana eggs. Those Serama eggs aren't very filling! (just kidding--I haven't actually tried one--yet)

O yes they are broodie for sure most of my girls will sit three to five times a year i have one that hatch me like four batches so far this summer they are great henobators !

Thanks Gumbii! I really like her. I can't wait for my daughter to get to show her. We're going to the SCNA show here in WA this month just to see how it works (not bringing the birds). I'm hoping I'll meet some people there that can help us learn the ropes.

She's laying an egg about every other day, I don't know if they're fertile, but I thought I'd get an incubator and see what happens. I think Kate said she's about 7 or 8 months old, but the cockerel in with her is a little younger.

getting the boys ready for for nov .

And I found out some sad/bad news... I think my serama hen is either only pet quality OR a judge thought her to be a Japanese bantam...
IF she is a serama.. she is a DQ forever type.. I think she is considered a short leg therefor would be a cull and would throw short legged babies, or chicks that won't hatch...

What do you think?

Your new ones look mottled or spangeled and she looks like a serama but she could have the creaper jean but she could still produce good babys paired with the right cock . good luck !
