American serama thread!

Love him! I would like to work on crele and or spangle. I am very early into Seramas , so I am not sure which direction I am going in yet. Seem to love them all! LOL

He is really nice, I really like his color.

Thank you, though I can't take the credit for breeding him. My friend ladrifter was just throwing his Seramas' eggs away this past winter and I talked him into letting me hatch some instead. Can you believe this beautiful guy almost got thrown away??!??!??

What a tragedy that would have been!

This is great. Good pix and I see the difference. Thanks again!

I love her coloring. Would love to see a photo of a feel feathered frizzle just for comparison as I have several young frizzled chicks and really do not know what to look for.

THIS IS JUST MY OPINION !!!!! don't take it to heart . but from what i read on the standred thats how they should look .

Love the crele boy! I think I have a pretty good chance of getting a very typey BBred, but the barred is going to take some time.

Quote:
Barred is easy, just remember that a hen will only pass it to her sons. There is a difference between barred and cuckoo. A barred male has 2 genes for barring, a cuckoo male only has 1. This crele is a cuckoo, evidenced by the 'loose' barring.

If you have a barred male he will pass it to all his offspring; a cuckoo male will pass it roughly 50% of his offspring (no difference between sexes).

Well for me, its all about learning so Im ok with opinions and suggestions. Its not like you are trying to kill me. I figure I will get better with age-lol, but not to much age....At least the birds will get better with age and breeding. I now have some birds from Jerry and a few other breeders so I guess it can only get batter. Right?

well with the right breeding and time your birds like everyone else's will be very nice ! good luck . just keep in mind where you want your birds to be and keep breeding towards that goal .

Just took some more photos of my little ones and thought I would share some of them. These were mostly taken so that I could track color change as they grow and it is difficult or impossible to see type at all. That will remain to be seen! Any comments are welcome.
