Mother has a congenital deformity; her left lower arm bones are missing, and her hand comes out of her elbow. Dropping the kid may not have been entirely her fault. She was horrified, and she immediately called 911. Doc told her that "babies bounce", and she had little to worry about.
I"m afraid you are a pretty smart thinker!! Just hatched two more babies and 2 more eggs are rocking. I also stuck 3 of the oldest eggs under my silver ginger girl who has suddenly gone broody! That leaves me 4 more to put in the bator after this hatch finishes! OMG.....they get more beautiful every day. I moved some out to the garage today so I wouldn't be totally surrounded by brooders and grow outs. They really needed more room and I have a couple of larger cages out there.

Oh, well that's a little different. But I still couldn't imagine doing that, I think I'd pass out before being able to call an ambulance

An 8-10 week old Serama cockeral should have a very red comb. Most of mine turn red at 3-6 weeks. The frizzles seem to be a little slower but definitely at 8 weeks you should be able to tell.
Post a picture and we should be able to tell you boy or girl.

I agree, most of my boys are noticeably male by 6 weeks old. However, the females don't really have much of a comb at all until they reach POL, so a young chick with a 'big' comb might still be a boy. If you have several males together, the less dominant ones will generally not develop as quickly.
ETA: This little guy was 6-8 weeks old when this picture was taken:
Humongous comb, and yes, he was crowing
These guys were probably more like 10-12 weeks, but you can clearly tell the male from the female
