birds that are not up to the standered or birds that just don't make the cut !

I wouldn't start culling my birds that early, most birds are not fully develope at that age. Most breeders start culling around 6-8 months unless they show undesire flaws early on.

Question what are "culls"? I've heard of culling in the way of selling and/or killing them, but never like that before.

Red rooster farms, Here is my coop/run affair. I live on a standard size city lot, so tried to do the mosrt with the small space as I could. It is still a work in progress so excuse the building materials and destroyed grass...The run is 30' X 5' X 5'. There is a coop on each end. Access to both coops is by ramp underneath them. The birds have 24/7 access to the run. I have a swinging divider in the run [made out of fencing, you can see it in one of the pics] to keep the 2 roos apart. Inside my gazebo is the "main" coop and also more cages [made from shipping crates]. Also the feed prep area and feed box under it. The feed box was a desk that I made into the box [on wheels]. I have 2 birds that decided they want to sleep way at the top of the cages so there is a hidey-hole for them up there [hense the ladder]. I put up heavy plastic over the winter to keep out drafts and rain. I have a piece that I hang over the doorway of the gazebo as well. I am amazed at how well that plastic keeps the tempurature nicer inside. I have lived here 14yrs and never really used the gazebo until now..SO glad I have it. The crates/3 desks/main coop/ second coop and cabinet it sits on are all made with stuff I have found on the curb, ya know what they say, one mans trash is another mans treasure....

Cull is a term breeders use for birds that don't meet the standard of the breed, they usually sell them cheap, give away to those who only want them for pet or kill them. Regardless how proven your breeders are, you still get a few culls here and there every hatch. I hope I explain that correctly.

Little pullet is pretty nice looking. I understood you, they were someone elses culls.

Tinytots- cull means to remove from your flock or breeding program
many ways to do it, give away, sell, kill
