Concerning birds received by franciscreek, lets be careful about all jumping in to question the ethics of the shipper. It could have been any of us on this thread.
Birds can be so easily damaged in shipping and that would not be the shipper's fault.
I also know that young Serama occasionally do not ship well at all.
I have received birds from some of the best sellers out there and have had birds arrive injured that did not make it . also have had birds arrive looking fine and drop over dead the next day.
I have also received birds that were obviously not well cared for or cleaned up for shipping and have had to take a loss. Money I could not afford to loose but it was my gamble because i agreed to buy and have them shipped.
Lets hope the bird is only injured and see if we can give helpful suggestions to speed it's recovery.
Also very much hope the seller will correspond with the buyer as they should.
It is so much easier to deal with a shipped bird problem if you have a sympathetic and helpful seller. Not saying they are to blame or need to accept any blame but they need to know that their birds arrived with a problem.
Also sometimes younger Serama look very thin, emaciated and bony but are only at that awkward teenage period and just need to be fattened up with good feed.
Best of luck franciscreek.
