I have one cockerel that is barred, almost looks like a crele. He is still in the 'baby' pen. But I doubt I'll use him since he has a pretty long back

Obviously, this is not a pic 'of' him, but he is in it

Can't wait to see some pics of your oegbs.....this is what you will get if you X them;

blue wheaten to blue wheaten sport = 50% blue wheaten 50% blue wheaten sport

blue wheaten sport to blue wheaten sport = 100% blue wheaten sport

blue wheaten to Blue wheaten = 50% blue wheaten, 25% blue wheaten sport, 25% wheaten

Why didn't you call me when you go buy your birds???? I have always been a big fan of oegb, specially the spangled variety.

At 5 weeks, they really need a temperature of about 75 degrees. Serama are more sensitive to temp than most.

Ok thanks that's what I figured what age do you'll take away the heat lamp or how is the heat control with Seramas thanks

I spoil mine...keep them in the living room in a brooder box with a heat lamp until about 4 weeks then move them to my daylight basement with a 60 watt light bulb. Currently my basement is about 75 degrees. At 8 weeks, I have just begun to turn the light off at night. Spoiled, maybe, but I do have an excellent survival rate.

Good luck!!

The best advise i can give is i use a auto turner. i candle once. and i keep a close eye on the temp and humidity. once the pip and hatch. dont touch. leaving there for 24 hrs makes them stronger. Their is alot of awesome people here that will help or answer any questions. I think you will do great.

Thanks Bobby for all those good vibes. I'll take all I can get especially since this is the first bator hatch. I am very interested to see if the really small egg will develop!!

Mine are 7 weeks and they still have a heat lamp and they are inside the house. I usually keep a light on them till about 8-10 weeks, of course they scream like they are dying when I turn it off lol but I still do
