American serama thread!

Hi everyone!

I am new in here! I will be getting my very first Seramas next week!

This is the boy I will be getting! I think he is beautiful, and will be getting him either way, but what do you all think?

She said that he is from a dun line, and that I should get a black hen so I will get chocolates. Are chocolates very desirable?

What color would you pair him with?

Thanks so much!

Looking forward to learning about this beautiful breed!
Very pretty boy!

My eggs came!!!!!!

I have 18 serama eggs from Laura and all of them arrived here safe and sound! they are booted, frizzled, silkied, and smooth, so I have eggs from all the feather types found in seramas. Aside from Rumpless, that is.

Wow what a great looking guy! I don't know much about serama standards but he is sure pretty. I think I like the boys best =) they have the best colors and the sweetest dispositions.

Okay I was checking my hens this morning for more eggs...my gray serama hen was huddled up on the ground all puff up and kinda panting and seemed to be pushing...could she be egg bound? If so...what do i do? She is also sneezing often...she may be sick....any advise would be appreciated.
Hey I saw some medicine at the feed store for birds. Maybe some electrolytes to perk her up a little. keep her indoors warm and away from drafts. Of course chicken noodle soup is out of the question. I will look up for info too. Hope it helps

I have 3 little serama , king georg , mini and sweetypie , if I hatch another hen or two I really like I will consider keepingthem , My guess is I will stick to 3 but wont go past5 if i keep more.

Little one looks like they decided they want to zip out by makeing a big enough squar hole to climb thru little goof ball
Hee hee hee, I did see that, but unfortunately I've been away from the computer and didn't see your little blondie actually hatch, but she/he's beautiful! One down, How many do you have left in there? Awww, he's looking right into the camera (when he's not dropping off to sleep, LOL) Love this live cam!

How cute~~ So, what colors do you think those are? Harriet is pretty and Sirius is keeping his eye on you.

Well, someone said Harriet looks Partridge, but I have no idea color names or anything, LOL

Love him! I might have the holidays too much on my mind but the darker color reminds me of hazelnut praline, the lighter color of egg nog, and the white of snow! LOL pretty!

Hope they hatch out with those feather types (they can be smooth, just so you're prepared) Unless silky requires 2 silkie genes???? Not sure! If so, I'd guess those are sure things :)

Oh gosh, Here is the best pictures I took (out of 40?) of my babies, LOL. Little wiggle curious buggers wouldn't look at the same time, and wouldn't stand up! But here is the family portrait as it is

Oh, and they have names! From left to right we have Harriet, Sirius Black, Hermione and Luna (last two based on personality rather than color, LOL)
Cute babies! I love all the colors you have.
I could make you one (some) if you want, but unfortunately I can;t make them for as cheap as the others in the BST forum.

Mine are great in the car. I started just puttin gthem in a harness and on a leash and setting them in the front seat and they would stay put but seemed a little on edge. Now I put a milk crate in the front seat with a towel draped over and in so they don't have to wear a harness in the car - I put it on them before they get out - and they are much more comfortable and less antsy being able to perch on the edge of the crate.

Too cute!

He's lovely, SleepyOwl! :)

Serama eggs arriving Monday! I can't wait!

Oh -- and I didn't know you could breed for specific colors with seramas??? I mean, it makes sense to me that you could, but I read somewhere that seramas were very Forrest Gump -- you know, like a box of chocolates...

I think they are, but if you mix certain colors, it raises the chances for certain colors? I am not sure though. Hopefully someone who actually knows what they are talking about will jump in.
