I'm soo... happy for you. Where there's a will there's a way, right? Serama's are fabulous little birds, they won't disappoint you!

I'm curious, are there "table top" shows for other breeds or is it only a Serama thing?
Runner Ducks have their own version of table top. They are judged moving around in a pen, at the show's discretion, and although I have no idea what they're looking for, it's pretty fun to watch. Ducks make me giggle...

And as far as color breeding goes, I believe that I read something a while back about color categories in Malaysia. There were three categories, and there was an order of preference for each. I remember that the 'best' color was one that was red or buff based, but the others escape me. Granted, colors had very little to do with results, but it bears to mention that even the Malaysians aren't completely 'color blind.' I can't find my source, as it has likely been deleted from the forum where I read it. Something to chew on, I guess.

Thanks, ! They havent been handled much before I got them but so far have been an absolute delight! I wish I could come up with names appropriate for the two of them, any idea what color the litttle hen is??

Uneducated guess: your hen is brown red, and the cock is birchen. They are gold/silver versions of each other.

Just keep handling them, they'll get calmer. Unfortunately, I'm just learning my colors, so I can't help you at all. LOL! I felt so stupid, last night I stumbled across a pic of a pair of Black Tailed Buffs, and realized that's what my new pair is. So simple, and yet completely escaped me.

Give it a few weeks yet. My pullet Boo was born yellow with a chipmunk strip down her back and changed dramatically. My Peewee(avatar) was born all yellow and once she started to feather she has black dots on the top of her head and frizzy brown feathers coming in.
