American serama thread!

Taking updated pics of my newest babies... just over 5 weeks old, here are four of the seven

First up is Anastasia, the smallest of the bunch...she is so sweet and adorable. :D

Then, Morrigan, who would not stand on the blanket, and who wanted to just crouch on my arm...so here she is.

Then we have Selene...she is getting little tiny tiny wattles, but her comb is as yellow as can be, and really small (like sunk into her feathers)...I sure hope she is indeed a she

Last but not least, is one of my for sure boys, Myles. He usually carries his tail bolt upright, but I could not get a good pic of both the tailset and his overall cuteness...so here are TWO pics of him :D

OH yes please do show us what you come up with! I would love that! I have 3 large roosters with my big ladies outside and thankfully only one crows, but boy is he loud, and I'm pretty sure the corner of the neighbors house that is closest to him is the bedroom of one of their young daughters! No need for her to get up at 5am. And boy he doesn't let up! He crows like every 20 seconds until about 10 and then he only crows every minute.... what a brat.

ALRIGHT GUYS I locked down last night!!!!

I'm going to try this again... lol. I've got 5 eggs of the 16 or so original still left after last night's final pull of the clear ones. 3 look promising. Keep me in your wishes!!!! I finish the brooder this week (which I promise to post pictures of because I'm very proud of it - from an old dresser the neighbors tossed out on the street haha) but they will be kept inside in the old rabbit cage for a couple weeks until I know I can keep a good hot temp steady outside in this freezing weather.
Fingers crossed for your remaining eggs. I will look forward to seeing their baby pix soon. Are all the remaining eggs Seramas?

The other three... Starting with AF FireStorm (love this little guy already)

Then my lil red baby who I was hoping so much would be a pullet...lookin like a cockerel too >.<

and one little pullet, Persephone

They are all adorable and just go ahead and box them up and ship them to me. : Selene is a cutie but im cookoo for frizzles.

Thanks folks. I found a home for her that can be temporary or permanent if the owner doesn't come through. He's a good guy I've dealt with quite a bit, didn't know he kept these too, but it turns out he does! Send me a message if somebody thinks she might have been theirs and we can get her back.

You guys are a crack up! This is exactly why I like this site! These fun breed threads are for just what Junebug said! Enjoying our birds and each other! I love getting on here and reading all about everyones cuties. Who cares if they are up to ANYONES standard. They are all freaking adorable!
My birds are definitely pet quality, but that's all I want. In fact I personally prefer they look like miniature chickens rather than the show quality vertical-ness. Sometimes it's fun to see the little soldier pictures, but I still like my little ones to look like regular chickens, just uber tiny. The tiny part is what hooked me, and the personality is what caused the obsession. The fact that they aren't all show quality is what excited me when I looked into it. I know you all like the little soldier stance and your frizzle birds, but I'm just here for the mini

Thanks for the hatching wishes cluck-cluck! Oh man I'm so excited! If I don't get some babies this time around I'm going to cry! I NEED MORE MINIS!
I love the soldier stance, but mine probably won't be that great when they grow up, but when they WANT to hop on your hand, when they WANT to be picked up and played with, that's just golden, isn't it? Still keeping everything crossed (had to learn to type that way!) it's a bit hard to get around, but anything for my fellow BYC'ers!!!

AND when any of us have a bird emergency y'all are here to help.... soooo.... on with my gorgeous birds! and enjoying what you guys come up with!
So True!!!
Very well put everyone. I want to show my ...bantams, but that's not why I'm here. That's also not the main reason for having them. If I didn't enjoy them then what's the point? Anything not show quality is just as likely to stay as a pet/layer/broody/whatever excuse I can find to keep it as one that is. And I love looking at and drooling over everyone's cute little serama on here. As it was pointed out earlier too, if they looked like what some people think they should, there are quite a few people who wouldn't own them. Me included. If I wanted something that looked like that, I'd get one of these-

That's weird. Her feet are red? Yah, I don't like extremes. Maybe there is a good reason for standards of perfection, to keep stuff like that from happening??
Is she even a serama? I have just assumed because she's like the size of a pigeon. (If I'm not walking into a minefield with that question.
