American serama thread!

OK, BHep, if you're out there, maybe you can resolve this question??? I think my frizzle also has silky feathers! Is that possible? They're not like what other frizzles seem to look like! I love these two little ones, they're so cute together and adorable!

You'll probably need to click on the picture to enlarge in order to really see the feather structure. Thanks, I'd surely like to know! See that blushing in the back of his comb? Yah, I think he's a cockerel

The other one's comb is a lot smaller and no color. It's amazing that the comb is changing already, and it changes every day!! 2 weeks, 3 days

They are adorable! If he is a frizzle and silkie they call that a sizzle right? Im so jealous!

I just took another picture of my babies. I took away their paper towels and they're now on shavings! They've been playing non-stop in those shavings!!! It's too cute! Anyway, another shot to show the curl in the wing feathers. I'm wondering if that's normal for Silkied feathered birds? I can't wait until these two grow up a bit more. Sure, chicks are cute, but the bigger birds are so much more personable!

OMG so cute! I want a little Nigerian goat ^..^ We can keep them in Austin...I'm still debating it. We had pygmies and big milk goats when I was a kid...love them!
Kukupecpec get ready to drool some more then. We had triplets born early morning and I got some great pictures. This is a little boy with mother Tumblelina.

Little doe.

Little red bucky boy.

The family.

I know, are they adorable or what? I seriously hope we can retire in the country some day!! I just think I'll be to crippled by then to care for any animals

Stupid knees, ready to chop 'em off! LOL I wanna have goats too, and horsies and cows and cats and dogs and duckies and ferrets ... ferrets? Yah, sure, why not? Ferrets!

These babies are too cute! Now what you need to do is put them in a box and rush them over to me so they can play with my babies!?!

So I am re-vising the diaper stuff. I think I can charge like $9 per diaper. $5 for shipping up to 10 diapers. $2 more for an extra back piece to fit another bird. $1 more for leash loops.
Once I use up the supplies I've got (not much left haha) I will check and see what the actual supplies and costing me and hopefully be able to adjust it down from there! I don't so much wanna make money as make them available to everyone who wants teeny tiny diapers . I'm a total clean freak so not having to deal with the pooh is a HUGE plus for me.

OH! That is an AWESOME idea! I do that for my rabbits - make those NIC cages out of the buildable grid cubes! You can get a box of 6 cubes for $20 at target.
Simple ones like this would probably make the best home's for serama

But this is the hybrid I made for my bunnies. It is a cross between the cube grid panels and those big heavy wire industrial shelves. I don't think I would survive with out my grid cubes and industrial wire shelves... lol

I have trimmed all the zip ties off! so it doesn't look so silly. And the levels are all full with toys and playthings now. But this is the best picture to show structure. This was like 10 minutes after I built the thing so it's a bit sparse.

Do you breed and sell these little cuties?
How much do you charge for them? The ones I've found around here are like $100 per goat. It makes me sad cause theres just no way I can afford that for a LONG time. This gal's still in school trying to pay bills completely off my husbands 2nd year teacher salary! HA
They are freaking adorable though!
AHHH! They are so fuzzy! I hope mine fuzz out a little bit. They are all supposed to be smooth, but ALL the babies are little fuzz butts aren't they?
I didn't get a picture of the funky butt. He's too darn wiggly now, I can't get much of a picture at all anymore, just video, sorry! Thanks for wanting to help though =)
That rabbit cage looks fantastic! I also thought about using an entertainment center or tv armoire since I see them on CL for free all the time, and then covering the front in wire/plexiglass. I've seen snake cages made out of them/similar things, so was thinking with a little creativity I could manage a serama cage.

I hatched them from eggs I got from members here on BYC. They are very hard to hatch. Out of the 42 eggs I set, only 6 hatched and that was from 3 different people's eggs. I am planning on keeping them all. I was lucky to get 5 girls and 1 boy. If and when they start laying in a few months I could hatch some out for you if you would like. There is also a show coming up in February in Inverness. Someone there may have some available. As for their crowing, my little guy sounds like a squeek compared to my LF Roos. Your neighbors would probably think you have some kind of parrot.

I hadn't planned on going to the show in February, but I am now! I did meet one breeder last Saturday so once I find a cage setup I like I'm going to call and see what she has available . I don't need show quality. Yes please let me know when you have eggs, I would love to get chicks! Thank you!
