American serama thread!

Got 18 eggs from Castle Delight Seramas in the mail yesterday! Laura does an amazing job at packaging! Not one egg was damaged! They are sitting now, and will be in the incubator in a few hours! Trying some new techniques with these eggs since I have had a 0% hatchrate with my Serama eggs so far.

Plus we will have our new RCom incubator in a few days that I can move them to for even better stability!!

Ohh I'm jealous. I'm gonna be watching your progress with these eggs. I was nervous to have them shipped from so far, but if it works for you, I just may try it!

thx guys...well im no Expert in Serama breed, but i tell u one more thing and that is that some Serama Rooster Loves to ride on big hens such as jersey, oprington, plymourth and any other big lady's cause this make The Serama feel like hes the "BOSS"..and make em feel ,proud, high and like hes the king, but be carefull because that Male Serama might feel like he's the DON around there and the Don duty is to protect the lady so when its feeding time guess what...FALCON KICK IS DELIVERED RIGHT IN THE FACE...

Really, why is it the 3 weeks waiting for eggs to hatch is an eternity and the 3 weeks after fly like the blink of an eye?

With diapers that run under foot and that you throw sunflower seeds on the floor for while yelling at the kids for dropping same on same floor

That's pretty funny. My Sirius surprised me by being afraid of my bantam Sultan. I thought he'd challenge my Sultan, but he ran away instead!
I dunno, but I wish my Sultan Charlie would catch it!
Oh! I got the name of a color right for once then! LOL
Ugh, bummer

Awesome!!! That's where my Luna (and Sirius and Hermione) came from! Good luck with this hatch! You're gonna do well this time!

she's great! She has the best customer service too!! And very generous with extras. I've got silkieds coming from her in March.

Only four more days to Hatch Day for my Castle Delights eggs....her packing is AWESOME! I had no idea I was supposed to let them sit, so under the hen they went right off the bat! Talk about dirty looks--I took her nice warm eggs away (crossbreeds) and put a bunch of ICE CUBES in there instead! That was 15 days ago....I moved the hen and nest to the new Queen's Quarters--about 4' square coop that is all hers--and since it's been really quite cold, placed some Christmas lights atop her plastic tote (it's on its side to protect from major drafts and any stray precipitation despite the plastic taped to the coop), which she seems to be appreciating. Tomorrow I pull the water *dish* and put in some of the caged-bird watering tubes which have founts that not even a Serama chick can drown in (I hope!).

Totally excited and anxious with a TERRIBLE case of PMS*.....

only problem with silkies for broodies, not all go broody, and then when they do, they stay eternally broody or mama mode...:)

I'm getting two as babies this afternoon from a local lady. I HOPE they go eternally broody! I just want another incubator but my husband won't let me buy one so I'm tricking him with silkies haha!
