American serama thread!

Hi everyone. PLEASE tell me Betty is not Bob. She is 6 weeks old and the only one I think might be female from the whole hatch. The others had bigger, redder combs at 4 weeks.

Sorry, that's a boy...

Hello!
We are new to seramas (fairly new to chickens - just over a year with LF). I was wondering what kind of bedding is ok for them. We use pine shavings for the other chickens, but didn't know if seramas are too fragile or prone to problems with that. The lady that gave them to me said that they would have to stay inside for about 5 months - they are just about 3 weeks old now. Is that really true or can they go outside? We are in Louisiana where it is reaching 90 and just 70 at night. Thanks for the help.

Big Boss - recently introduced to the flock and is within an hour singlehanded made himself visiting alpha roo, despite his petite size. Just caught him properly mounting a submitting standard hen.. what a sight lol. Normally I keep him and his mate in their cage but it was free-range time.

Daisy - his frizzled southern belle. She gets picked on by the other hens when let out so she follows closely to her mate, who then does his sideways shuffle and shows them who's boss.

My Serama chicks (not yet named). About a month old and paired up already! I separated them from their surrogate Silkie mother about a week ago, and upon reintroduction the cockerels have been been 'cutting the wing' towards their former mother and one continuously grabs her tail feathers, even hops on top of her holding her by the crest. They sure grow fast!

Argh! A 100% rooster hatch. Crud! CRUD! CRUD!!!! I needed some pullets.
What a bummer!!! How do you guys tell that's a boy? I have some pullets that have pretty big red combs! Everybody went to school today (unfortunately no pictures) and everyone was really surprised that a couple of my hens were actually hens! But I know they are because they are laying lol.

Wow he is super handsome! I'm a little jealous of all you guys with serama roos that get along with the big ladies. Tacos little crazy in general though.

Got one chick out and another pipping! So excited! More babies!
