In the Brooder
Have you had other bantams before?
You probably won't be able to tell what they are until they've grown up.
I've hatched an OEGB but that's it.

Yes...4 days ago when I opened the side of the house, one hen kicked an egg out onto the floor. (The two are sitting on about 7 eggs)
It busted and there was a fetus. I was raging mad but what can I do?
All the eggs should be fertile, as my roo is very randy...he mounts them constantly ( before they went broody of course)
The two actually sitting g on eggs won't let anybody near them. I feed and water them upstairs.
The one in the breezeway is laying an egg a day but not where she sits! She goes upstairs to the patio to lay.
The one in the actual room I built for broody hens isn't laying...just sitting.
I think she was the one that laid the tiny egg
How long an how many eggs are they setting on?Hi guys! I've been looking at this thread and I have to say all the birds I see are beautiful!
Now to my birds. My crazy birds. I hope someone can give me advice.
First ofall, I have 1 roo and 4 hens, aged 7 months. They all live in this condo thingy I built for them
22 days ago one hen went broody and 5 days later another joined her. They went upstairs and set together since then
Now, my other two hens, have at times, acted broody. One is currently sitting for 8 day on nothing! In this little room
Then the last one took up residence in the breezeway. ..again sitting on nothing
Then one laid this!!!
I've been trying to let nature take its course...but it seems my chickens is sho gone crazy!
What's happening?!
It is possible that the fetus had died, I have heard that the hen will sometimes get rid of Dead eggsYes...4 days ago when I opened the side of the house, one hen kicked an egg out onto the floor. (The two are sitting on about 7 eggs)

After dipping the sick chick's beak in water several times the chick started to drink on its own...
