I weighed two of my little pullets today. 16 weeks old this weekend. She is only 270 grams, about 9-1/2 ounces. The larger one is 300 grams. I expect they will start laying soon.

O M G! So freakin’ adorable! I have been wanting Silkied birds for so long with no luck. Now, we are moving soon (rented for a year when we moved here), so will have to wait til Spring.

Above is Honey Thorn. He's 2 1/2 months old and 9 oz... What do you think ? Is he too heavy already?

Hi Chichero,

I don’t show my birds. They are just fluffy pets that eat garden bugs in this household.

I hope someone who knows a little more about this can help you. Also, there are several Serama groups on Facebook with people who show their birds, and you’d probably get a faster answer on there. It can be kinda slow here on Backyard Chickens.

I think it's funny...
On my LF chicken that I breed for egg color I '' for pullets, but I dont really care on my seramas.
I grow them out for a while until I can deem them "worthy", so why want one or the other? (unless you have too many on one).
Just me and what I do..

Actually I prefer the boys in chickens lol. But I wouldn't want that kinda noise all day .. I have 7 now and it's almost too much... Almost lol
