I like him he is prettier than the picture sent to me. I did my best to get shots from video of him and his little frizzle pullet, they aren’t the best pictures sorry.

He has frostbite bit and will lose most of his comb but no signs of infection. My hens got dubbed with frostbite this week too. They have been putting bag balm on it but I read it’s best to just leave it alone.

How much? Buy him, he needs a home that won't let him freeabove freezingze. My house is full of seama and others during freezing weather.

There are many breeds that can deal with the cold. Why have serama if you don't want to provide an environment above freezing?

A couple of my boys have some frostbite too. But they usually heal just fine.
His upper beak looks a little long, or maybe it’s just the angle of the pics? He may need something hard to scrape it on, like a flat stone or paving block, or even a brick. If not, you may consider a light trim with nail clippers. Tiny bit at a time.

Since his beak needs clipping his toe nails probably need clipping too. Same with the hen if you buy her also.

I did think the beak looked long I’ll try a cinder block first, if it doesn’t help I’ll trim. I did check nails they look good. I can’t completely blame owner for frostbite, weather is tough on straight combs up here. My hens got some on the tips of their combs last week.

The cold plus the humidity is what’s hard on the combs. My seramas sleep outside (their choice) and it’s really humid here, so it happens to some of them. I’m actually hoping my cream legbar rooster loses a good bit of his comb. It’s huge but I don’t think I can dub him.

I have not had to deal with the silkies getting frostbite with there walnut combs. Even when they walk around with icicles hanging off their crest from dipping it in the heated water bowl (I swear they do this on purpose so they can see).

Owners of serama should have a plan to make sure combs don't freeze. The same with other breeds with big combs/wattles. There are plenty of breeds that can take the cold without body parts freezing and falling off,

As I read my last post I feel ashamed. This group is about sharing ideas, successes, disappointments. It is not about judging others; I do not know your situations. I have always hated people who think they are so good they can pass judgement on others-yet, here I do the very thing I despise. I offer my apology to you.

you are just passionate about your tiny feathered friends, so it’s understandable, we all get a little heated sometimes.
