By outside I do mean unheated coop.

That's what I figured. Another aspect you need to check is how closely the serama are related. Too much inbreeding will lower hatch rates. Size too. Serama 12 ounces and up will usually give better hatch rates than smaller serama.

Since her silkie is sitting on some eggs, DD decided to give Teddy a "spa day." Poor fella. He let's her do ANYTHING to him.

If you're referring to my little rooster, he only lost his dignity. Our DD decided he'd look good dyed pink.

The family is official and there's no pecking. Solo is cautious when eating at the same time as MaiMai & chick, but otherwise they all get along. The black orp looks very female to me. It will be interesting when she grows bigger than her much older serama sister. I'm hoping the little black one will be her bodyguard when they get introduced back into the bantam flock.


Meanwhile I have 2 broodies (a silkie & a serama) sharing 1 serama egg. It's due to hatch tomorrow but may delayed from the cold. Gonna be interesting!
