the first crossings, i would keep the nicest blonde wheaton out of the bunch... take him and cross him back to the mom... then you should be able to get some blue salmons, black salmons and depending if the roo you crossed back to the mom is blue, some splash salmons as well...

Well it seems my bad luck in not over. I have a tiny serama chick that is not doing great. I think she just gets bullied out of food. I have her seperated now with another small chick. She just lays there. I dipped her beak in the water and she drank a little and I had some peach baby food that dropped in her mouth with a dropper. I made some sugar water. I needed to add baby parrot food to the medical nesecity list that we started on here. Any other suggestions.

Here's more fluffy pictures of my two babies

The first to hatch is so busy, it's hard to get a good picture.
The second to hatch is not as busy, and I'm watching it closely. It's eating and drinking and running around some, but not as robust and number 1.
The second's favorite past time in the incubator has been to lay on it's back and suntan, just like the big chickens do!
They are in the big brooder now, and I'm watching them very carefully. I had to put a tupperware top in for their food because I don't think they can reach the openings in the chick feeder. They are really teeny.
I've never had one with such white down as number 1 has.

I had an Ameracauna chick that was really lethargic after it hatched. I gave it sugar water and it perked up some, by day two it was as active as it's siblings. I left a little lid of sugar water in for it until it acted normal.

It was 3-4 weeks old, but it was tiny. Like the white one i got from you. I should have seperated her sooner. I saw her this morning acting sleepy and thought that she was Ok. Anyway she didn't make it. I think it was just to late. I am just having some really bad luck or I am not as good as a serama owner as I thought!!

Thank you Bobbyc, Larkspur, and ruthless for your information about the trimming. I have trimmed twice and they don't seem to mind. I am very careful not to take off too much and I have trimmed the nails also. With 6 dogs, I have a little trimming experience! Got to keep them all ship shape! I love messing with them anyway.
Now to get the hatching part right!
