Thanks. I have one of those. So y'all just run off the battery all the time?

LOL, no solar panel here. Do have a generator though. Just trying to cover my a_ _ in case the power goes out while we're gone.

My a/c did that! It's a 220 wall unit. We took it out of the wall, took it outside and took the casing off the main unit (leave your outside casing that your a/c slides into attached to the wall outside) to get to the inside fins on the radiator. I couldn't believe how much gunk was clogging it! I'd been cleaning the outside fins and changing the filter so I thought something was wrong with my a/c. A a/c man said to take it apart and clean the inside of the outside fins. SAVED $. I sure appreciated the advice:) Cleaned it all up and it works GREAT!

We were at Orshlens and saw a roll of Burlap $10. Bought it and brought it home. I cut a piece big enough to wrap around the outside casing to keep leaves, cottonwood seed, mimosa seed/flowers ect... from getting inside and tied the ends with bread twine to hold it in place! It's working great also. I still have plenty of burlap to last several years.

An ounce of prevention.

I've learned my lesson.

BTW if you have one of those central a/c's you can take the outside casing off of them to get to the inside to clean. Just be sure the breaker is off. That way it doesn't come on while cleaning and no chance of electrical shock!

98 degrees here and our air conditioner froze up! Got home and it was 85 in the house and hot air blowing in through the vents! Thought I was gonna die. Thank God no power outage here but I have a backup batter that should run for 8 hours if it does go out and my incubators are plugged into it.

well chicks are out of the bator this morning and in there little brooder tank.... i am not happy about the fact that there are 2 older chicks by 2 weeks in there....its such a size difference for these guys

I have a question for our expert serama breeders here. I have 4 serama and 3 turned out to be roos

. Now here is the thing 2 started crowing at 3 weeks. I was floored when I first heard the first one, he sounded like a cricket and did not think they could do it this early. And sure enough, the second one crowed after a couple of days. The last one started crowing today at 4 weeks old. They don't do it at the same time though, but they all sound similar, like crickets LOL

So my question is, is this the norm for seramas to be crowing at 3 - 4 weeks?

um so far its a stand off and thats what has me worried.

far as them crowing OH YES LOL.... i have heard of them doing it at a week old lol.... CONGRATZ YOU HAVE EARLY BLOOMERS!!!! haha

Bill, I think you're looking at a disaster....I don't think you should mix newley hatched chicks with 2 week old chicks. Just make another brooder with a cardboard box and a light for warmth.
