sue yes its my house but sometimes certain things just arent worth the fight and until i graduate and start working i still kinda need her to help with the bills LOL.... now isnt a great time to rock the boat further

Bill, I think you're looking at a disaster....I don't think you should mix newley hatched chicks with 2 week old chicks. Just make another brooder with a cardboard box and a light for warmth.

I guess the first batch was 2 weeks old and the second ones are just a week old but I did keep them separate for a week. Now I put all 6 together and so far, so good. I wanted to make sure they were strong enough to handle the older ones. Also there are only2 of the older ones and there are 4 of the younger ones and I movers the older ones into the brooder that the younger ones have been living in. Just grab a plastic container and string up a heat lamp on anything that is higher up. Stick some paper towels on the bottom and there you have it. I am expecting 11 (hopefully) on the 16th ,so I had to combine hatches to have room for the other group. Musical brooders!!
