American serama thread!

@ YB192004 - SMALL WORLD!!! Yes, we got them from the 4H leaders who said they drove up to GG to get them! We would love to have more info on him and his lineage, and vitae, if possible. My son is just madly in love with them. They told us we wouldn't be able to show him, but ANY experience is better than nothing. My son is 10 and when we went over to Jake's, he fell in love with Jake's Searmas.

We are hoping to start him off with breeding and picking suitable chicks to raise for show, and this is such a beautiful pair.

Its a small world indeed........They are correct about not being able to show a dubbed serama, its an automatic DQed. With a right hen, he will produce good offsprings.....I was test mating that pair to see what they will produce when I decided to give them away to make room for my other projects and also cuz I have one of his son at that tim. I use his line to improve the chest and tail in my flock. Are you guys going to be at the meet up in Norco this weekend??? I can help you with your project if you want, cuz I have a grand daughter of his with plenty of legs length and yellow legs to help take your breeding program to the next level.​

We are leaving here around 8:30 in a caravan and will be stopping in Murieta for a quick carpool pick up. My husband is already dreading this trip....he is hoping there are non chicken talkers there for him to converse with, otherwise, he may go into a coma

Girl, you will need a desinate driver if he drives and a wheel chair for him just in case he goes into a coma.

We all are chicken talkers at the meet up!!!!!! Usually, Sue, Bill and I talk about chicken until the cows come home

We even had misters out but it hit 107 after a rain and I think the heat combined with the humidity was just too much. Luckily silkie mom covered the serama babies and kept them safe -sweet girl... All this after I culled down to 7 birds.

So... our serama project has taken a bit of a beating and we have a long time to wait and see if our chicks turn out well. I have a couple good ones, but my daughter lost hers so I will probably give her mine to show in Nov. unless I can convince Joey to give up a cull for her
