Bluebird, you are her BFF, you are just gonna have to "suffer thru it". I forgot how old teena is...that will have a bearing on intergrating with the "crew" as well. Just keep doing what your doing everyday...and one day she will decide that those guys are more fun than you [maybe].....

If you can't stand it just ship her over to me....I LOVE house chickens.....

Yes, I know exactly the sound you mean...that line of chocolate and partridge girls have their own special way of looking directly at you and making the sound like they're speaking directly to you.

Oh...and Teena has graciously given us 3 bitty eggs so far. She doesn't much like her basket, which I put a fake egg in, but just drops 'em on the floor. I put her and her egg in the basket and she just examines the egg then hops out.

No amount of training will make a 'silk purse out of a sows' ear'.

Love the quote.
But, when you know NOTHING (me) then I do need to know the basics and this helps me to know if or what I am working with (aka: A silk purse OR a sow's ear....LOL)

I'd like to know which one of us has the "sow's ear" birds

OMG! They are so cute. You didn't say WHY you got them back, but I can't imagine that someone didn't want them! If you still don't want them, I will take them in a heartbeat. Love the little guy's pose, and that hen! She looks like she has an attitued! If I could put a caption on that picture of what she was thinking, she would be saying, "Aren't you done yet? Hurry up! I haven't got all day! I've got things to do!"

I probably wouldn't make a very good judge. I haven't seen any "sow's ears on here!"

Nobody. Now you're 'making a mountain out of a mole hill'. I'm simply saying that it is not physically possible to make a long back disappear or to inflate a flat chest into a 'D'. No amount of training will do this...Not meant to ruffle anybody. Go ahead--train away!!

Well, I don't know and I am sure nothing was meant. But like with anything/anyone....when showing or "performing" there are those that just got it and others that don't ...whether it be the confirmation ...or the strut...
gig.gif
. My birds naturally do the strut when they were out in the yard...but under showing circumstances...they just would not know. I think they would be fearful as they have never been under those circumstances.

Yep. I would say that is where the training comes in! Best of luck with that and post some pics when you get them to display that "show attitude." I just love seeing pics of these pretty birds, and as I said, so far I haven't seen an unly one on here.

I get my seramas one week from tomorrow. I'm so excited I can't stand it!

I think I need to go bring some Seramas inside to play with today. I'm feeling a little down right now.

Nothing like watching their funny antics to cheer me up.

Sow's ears or silk purses.... that was funny June!! I get your point, but sometimes I wish I didn't know the difference. It would be nice to not have to look at my birds with a critical eye all the time. It was more fun, when they were all just fabulous.

nice pair of khaki's... breed them to black feathered seramas and get 100% chocolate offspring... that rooster was white when he was younger... i remember him... he's darkening up more and more after every molt...
