American serama thread!

Do you know for a fact that these are fawn/dun? Serama have 'true' chocolate, I've not heard of any proving to have the dun gene.

yes...

i'm the same way... but not only bathing... but like, after cleaning a coop/pen, bathing the dog, cleaning an animal cage, or even doing a back breaking waterchange on my old reef tank... after all that hard work and looking at your freshly pimped out pet... yeah... that's what it's all about...

You like bathing dogs? Good, I'll send my Rainbow to you, she's filthy!

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!...

What color is gray exactly? Is there a 'color' (in the chicken world) called gray? I have a cockerel running around the yard that looks blue, though I know he's not. Then I have my one silkied serama boy that 'looks' blue, but again I know he is not. I've not noticed any varieties of any chicken breed (not like I've looked specifically either) that is called 'gray'.

gonna let them settle for a few days then post some. the little cocoapop roo is already trying to pose this is killer

when i saw her i thought she was platinum... that's self blue mixed with fawn/dun or another dilute like choc-... but now that i look at it... there aren't any self blue serama out there... so either she's charcoal- or some form of BL/BL I^d/i+ blend... that's two doses of blue making her a splash, and a single dose of fawn/dun... that would explain the almost white coloration and grey undertones... or, she could be the other way around... I^d/I^d & BL/bl+ would do the same i guess...

i dunno... LOL...

but i know there is a charcoal gene somewhere in the chicken genetics books out there... but no one works with them or really discusses them...

and to answer the other question you asked a while ago... yes... there for sure is a fawn/dun gene in seramas... or else there would be no khaki colors like cara's birds up there... also there is for sure a choc- gene in seramas because we know some are sex linked that way...
