it seems to be one leg on each chicken. They can hobble around a little but not really walk. They do manage to change position. I had the hen with the hobbled bandage out of the cage and she flew to another spot so she can move. What else can I tell you? No new birds brought in. I thought I remembered reading something about vitamin B???? They eat medicated chick crumbles and grit . The leg just seems weak

Some things to try Chicklette cod liver oil , echinacea in the water , or see if you can get Poly-vi-sol liquid vitamins Enfamil brand if possible .. no iron ... give 2 drops on beak for 5 days then 1 drop for a week . got these ideas from others who had sort of the same thing going on . good luck and let me know how it goes and rember deep breaths it will all be just fine

Thank you........I do have poly vi sol infant but I think it has iron in it. I can run out and get the one without iron. I always put them on the Save-a -Chick immediately. The hen is eating but I haven't had a chance to work on the roo yet.

She did say they were on medicated chick starter, which is good. Otherwise my 1st thought would be weakness from coccidia. Coccidia is always possible because the corid in chick starter isn't effective against every one of the strains but it gets the major ones. So it's unlikely that's what it is. Vitamin deficiency may very well be the problem. With teeny tiny chicks just like with teeny dogs sometimes they don't get what they need nutritionally because they can't physically take in enough food. Vitamins is always worth a shot when you're not sure. One of those things that may not help but they won't hurt.

all my chicks that have been raised with there mom i have never gave any of them chick starter and i have never had a problem i do give it to the chicks i hatch in the incubator .

There's some that claim chicks raised by their mother get immunity from coccidia (and other things) by ingesting fecal matter from their mother by pecking around on the ground. It certainly makes sense to me. It seems Koala bears get their immunities the same way.
