The peeps are a week old and starting to grow out their wing feathers. They really are all different in their coloring; any guesses as to what they might be? The peep I thought might be silkied probably isn't. Here are some pictures. The first one is the first hatched peep - it looks like a diluted "chipmunk" pattern, feathers growing out white/cream. The second peep (on the right facing away from the camera is rusty brown with wheaten type feathers. The third peep is the one I thought was a silkie but the feathers look like they are smooth. She (don't know why I think it's a girl, but there you have it) is the same color as one but is obviously growing out different feathers. And last, but certainly not least is my little survivor chick. He is a reddish color, always trying to strut and be sooo upright but always falling over onto his hocks. Day old picture is with nail polish bottle. Love this guy...what spirit! He might actually be frizzled - the feathers look like they might be curling forward at the ends. Last picture is the whole group.
