American serama thread!

What size Plastic spiral bands ( the type for pigeons they come in multiple colors) would be appro for serama? Have been seeing them on chicks and thinking of them for babies. Have 2013 scna on order. Would also buy any 2012 spares out there

You'll have to travel pretty far to find a Serama only show; my last one was 1300 miles.  Ohio's best bet is to enter them in any open show.  Unless you have a decent white bird, they will just be competing against each other, but it's a good way to get started and learn the ropes.  Your closest would probably be the APA nationals at Lucasville in October and the Ohio Nationals in Columbus in November.  I'm bringing all my sale birds to Lucasville to try and drum up more interest in the breed, mostly wheatens and pumpkins.

We are actually taking our next family vacation at the same time as cajun classis. ... What a coincidence! I have no idea how we just happened to plan a trip to LA that same weekend. Ps what else is there to do in LA???? Lol

Ok these might not be good pictures and I'm not sure if I will be able to upload them so bare with me. I can't figure it out. I emailed the picture to my email and that is as far as I was able to get. Looks like we shall have to wait until later today.

Use coil wristband keychains. Cut them into loops that are 1.5 circles (overlapping). They come in many colors and are flexible enough that you won't feel like you are breaking legs to put them on. They expand with growth, unlike traditional bands that dig in, but they are easier for other chicks to pick them off.
