Most people say americana because they think its the true breed of ameraucanaThat is what they are. Americanas/Easter Eggers. You can call them what you want and others what they want.I find it a lot easier to say Americana sometimes but I also do call them EE.
Yeah some people do get it wrong but most of them are just beginners or first time chicken owners or people who are new to the breed. I used to call my hen (Pumpkin) an ameraucana because I was just starting with chickens and I didn’t know what she was. But now I know that she is an americana and not a pure ameraucana. It’s all about who that person is and whether or not they are saying it on purpose or if they want to learn what they really have. But you can’t force anyone to think differently. In this case the OP knows that americanas are Easter Eggers.
