mental note.#1...REMEMBER, Never be in a huge rush to "GO"
mental note.#2...REMEMBER, always always always check your gang line for wear/weak/chewed spots .
mental note #3...REMEMBER, Never be in a huge rush to "GO"
mental note.#4...REMEMBER, always make sure you have replacement sections such as tug, neckline and mainline.

mental note.#6...REMEMBER, being in a big rush to "GO" can cause your dogs to get choked and they'll learn to balk

"Sorry my babies"... That was me talking to Shadow and Frosty.
They're OK. I checked them over and loved them up lots and my wheelers were good to go after 10 mins of "decompression" and regaining composure.

Oh ya, The training run was another learning experience .
It's always a learning experience....even if it's only(not to minimize anything) reminders.
It's always new even though it may seem like rote.
Life is beautiful. Mush on. :)

On a different note....
Isn't it awful..... This time of year and no snow. Do you realize there's only 30 more days to Christmas?
Kinda makes me scared of what might be coming. You know, like big snowfalls and extended periods of extreme cold. You know, just to balance out the lack of said conditions thus far.

My turn to blush. Plus "someone like you"..... I don't know what you mean but I'll take it as a compliment. :pThank you.

I am envious re: your parents. I did everything on my own except when I was doing someone else's bidding.

I try to be a good supportive dad but it seems my kids are not appreciative.
But in reality none of that is not important. I am blessed to be alive and reasonably healthy in my mind, my body and my spirit.

I need to add that I think(& feel) you should not sell yourself short. Give yourself credit for being conscious of your blessings.
Yes "Someone like you" I fully meant it as a compliment

30 days!?!? Okay, snow, why aren't you here yet? I keep checking the weather and when ever it says 'snow' it turns into rain.

Well all the snow we had here( a whole 3/4 inch) is absolutely gone and we're back to muck.
Oh well. I'm kinda sick now anyways.
Hopefully it'll cool off soon and it'll be too cold for germs to live...and I'll get better quick.
So on many levels I want snow and real winter to arrive.
I ain't usually the kind to be ungrateful for life on life's terms but I'm kinda spoiled by having winter already for a couple weeks or month by now.
Settled in weather is good for the health.

"...someone like you...." I may not have met you and spoke in person to you but I think I can honestly say I know you well enough to say I trust your integrity enough to know you meant it in a good way.
It was an attempt to minimize me to me. Old habits die hard.

Good morning !
Anyone got snow yet?
I got fog. So I'm probably gonna stay on the house till the sun comes up at least.
I wanna take the trike with 5 dogs today.
Of course I'll check all the lines. Even though these ones are new I'm training myself to not be complacent. Don't want a repeat of what happened a couple days ago now do we..:gig
And let me know bout tweeks/innovations you've used or are considering. I like the one on Sled Dog Central that uses a stick instead of a panic snap.

It snowed today. We have about an inch of sticky wet snow. The kind that turns to ice when it gets cold. The kind we get in late Sept.
We had friends from Churchill yesterday that said there is still no ice in Hudsson Bay. Polar bears are starving because they're landlocked.
I sure mushing this year looks better quick.

So Blue, when you were sick was it like headache, nasal congestion, sore throat, lethargy, weak, dizzy spells, nausea?
That's what's happening with me right now. I feel like just staying in the house and laying around. Matter of fact that's I've been doing. Just go feed and water my dogs and birds,is,about all I do outside the last couple days. Geez, even using cloves and garlic didn't work this time. It just made me more nauseous. LOL

Anyhow, if this is how you felt, how long did it last with you?

It was mostly coughing, headahce, and weakness. Occasionally I felt pretty dizzy. It the worst was only about a week but the cough lasted I think two or so more weeks. Hope you feel better soon!
Does anyone have mushing weather. I mean like winter mushing.
No. We got a crumb-coat of snow this morning but all of it's gone. But it's suppose to snow this Wednesday.

Thank you. I hope I feel better soon too. I sure ain't used to laying around. But the good thing... at least I can relate now to those people saying they feel lazy.
In one sense I do feel a bit better.... Kinda. We have about 2-4 inches of snow here now. It's sticky and wet because the temp is still kinda warm but at least there is snow.
Bad side.....it's really warm still. The ditches are still filling with water so that means the snow is still melting. My trails will be actually kinda dangerous. The creek and river aren't froze good. It looks passable but I know it ain't. So no mushing yet for a while for me. Training carts on the road still I guess.:he:rolleyes::idunno:D
