Oh. Haha. i should've recognized them. A horse halter was also my first dog harness when I was about maybe 6-8. been a long time so I can't rightly recall.
Why

? I personally think it's a very good idea, its cheaper and works.
"cheaper" honors my Scottish bloodlines.
Perhaps frugal is a more politically sensitive.

I never had horses so I had to order harnesses.
This was my first http://www.amazon.com/UltraPaws-Dog-OneHarness-Large-Red/dp/B0049PJPWG
YA! not bad eh. Kind of expensive but I can see the merit of an adjustable harness.
I paid $15.00 for my first X-back harnesses. that was quite a few years ago. At the time that was a pretty good deal.....in Canada anyhow.
I think them same harnesses(from the same company) are about $30.00 now. Maybe a bit more for the really big ones like XXL-Jumbo-XXLJ.
The first real dog harnesses I had were homemade. I followed instructions from old people here. They were similar to but a smaller version of a horse harness with the padded collar, more for frieght pulling. It worked really well for 1-2-3-4 dogs in single file and even 2 dogs running along-side each-other and they could pull a heavy load but I wanted to go a little faster and have a bigger team,.... so I changed everything to Alaskan hook-up.
There sure a lot of sites on the net that sell harnesses now. When I first started looking I did'nt find even 1.

The pups names will all be in what most people refer to as "the Cree language". I've discussed it with others and it's OK to use it to name my dogs since they are providers of life to me and my family.
I'll do my best to soell it in a way that can be pronounced by non-speakers.
Oh Kihn Nee--a "Rosebud"
Nuh Hay Yee Khoohk -- as in "just in the nick of time"or"a critical point in time"or"timed just right" so TIMELY
Nick Kahn Ah Stim--"Leader" referring specifically to the foremost dog in a team
Moo Koo Muhn -- a "Knife" (shortened from KihCheeMooKooMuhn"BigKnife". a term used to describe American;Custer's sword)
Sih Pee Kuh SeeU--he ((animate)non-gender specific) is "Blue"
Ah Yim Mih SeeU--"Stern" in manner, solidly but not mean.
Muh See Nawh SeeU-- "part marked" like a piebald as opposed to an Appaloosa ?"spotty"? my Pibald Female
I could shorten them a bit but lose a lot of meaning with bastardization.
LMK what Y'all think
There are others that are being considered in the event that Blue eyes or other colors appear in the coats.
I will keep y'all in the loop.
