Americans, Do you buy your prescriptions from Canada?

Not sure what meds you are on, but Walmart and actually alot of other places now have those $4 scripts now. I just ran out of insurance also. (hubby has been laid off of work for 1 1/2 years) and thankfully the union kept us in health ins all that time, but it finally ran out. So anyways..what iwas saying was, i just had my thyroid meds filled for $4! AND hunbby just, this Tuesday, got called back to work!

He has to work a certain amount of hours to get insurance again....but..soon we'll be insured again. Thank God!

Great place to have your dental work done as well.

Be VERY careful. I've had some patients come back after trying to save a buck and much of the work is very substandard. One patient decided to get 10 crowns done... after x-rays, I sent him back to have 6 of them redone. Also, the way they sterilize instruments is scary... getting Hepatitis, or some other disease is not uncommon.

As for the drugs...

Many scrips are also MUCH less expensive in Mexico and as has been stated are actually made in the US... but you have to be choosy there too and determine where they were made..​

Yeah but I really only ever hear these kinds of stories from dental professionals who have everything to gain from spreading urban legends. Then again I know tons of people getting substandard work done in the US. My mother has been in the dentist for 6 months haveing US procedures reversed. There is no benefit for a mexican dentist who has access to all of the training and materials that we do 1 mile away to use different sterilization techniques and pass hepatitis on to his patients especially if he has worked a long time to build up a reputation as a good practitioner.

The savings is generally in the tens of thousands of dollars and the level of care is better than many US dentist offices IMO. Many of these offices serve only Americans.


The American Medical and Dental professionals are all crooks.

Same thing happens with medical care. One of the structural engineers that I work with just got back from India. He is a triathlete and a competitor in the Iron Man, but needed a sports related hip replacement. He got a new joint with a level of technology that is not even available in the US. 8 weeks after hip replacement surgery hes running a marathon. Hows the level of care? The private hospitals in India, where most of the doctors are trained in the US, are run like 5 star hotels. Whats the cost? $8,000 compared to an $56,000 operation in the US.

Going to a dentist or doctor in this country has become a joke.
