Amoxicillin dosage

I have a hen who was injured almost two weeks ago by a dog. She had deep wounds and was starting to decline so I put her on some amoxicillin. Does anyone know how long I should keep her on it? It’s been four days and she has shown great improvement. TIA!

The duration of amoxicillin is seven to ten days at 250mg per day. Since she wasn't started on the antibiotic until after infection likely developed, I'd go with the full ten day.

Also, cleanse the wound daily with warm soap and water and keep it moist with an antibiotic ointment. Vetericyn sprayed on the wound and left to dry before applying ointment is an added benefit to healing.
