Thanks for the help, everyone....Stubbly is doing fine, he's still alive and everything. I think he likes living in the house, he's got a voracious appetite and is always clucking softly when someone walks by. Thank God he hasn't crowed in the house yet, this roo has a very shrill and loud crow. I think his crest feathers are starting to grow back in, too....the other chickens pulled them all out and we had a bald top hat. He's doing a little better in his cage with the one leg with his balance and everything. I really think that it was the frostbite that did it, maybe he's more suceptible to it because all my other chickens don't have any problems but he does. I know that the string that was wrapped around his foot hadn't been there very long, maybe a day or two, but for some reason the foot was dead already. I noticed that two of his toes were frostbit as well, but I really don't want to mess with those. I immediately went out and checked all my other chickens' feet after this situation, and they're all fine, bright and yellow with no strings or frostbite, so he's the only one with this problem. I'd still love to know where he keeps finding these darn strings, though....and why it's just him.....
Thanks again, everyone, and say a prayer for my roo!!!!
