Amputee kitty

our rescued Ragdoll kitty had to have one of her front legs amputated (cancer) -- she died last month and we miss her so much but we were able to give her many good years ---- she used the litter box with no problem -- she was an adult when the amputation was done so she was already litter trained -- she figured out the 'covering up' thing by balancing on her haunches -- clever, sweet CoffeeCat -- one in a million ---

good for you for taking this little guy --- he'll adjust and will 'get it' about the litter box --- :)

kiss him for me -- what a cutie -- :)

Last year on mother's day my daughter's cat had kittens, she came in my office and had them at my feet while I worked. I watched her carefully, but left the placentas alone and let her do her job.

Sometime during the night 2 of the placentas got wrapped together and in turn around 2 of the kittens' legs. I carefully cut them loose when I found them and called the vet. She told me there wasn't anything she could do at this point, because they were so small but to watch them, and she gave us an antibiotic. One kitten's foot healed fine when the swelling went down, the other lost its foot/part of its leg. It just dried up and fell off.

We kept that kitten daughter named her Carolina Beth, and had no problems with litter box training. Im not sure if it made a difference, but her loss was a back leg. Since a cat's natural instinct is to dig and bury their feces, training should go just fine.
