they are quiet. My house may just be well insulated, and it is brick, bought it already built. Was built in 76. I don't even hear Mylo crow when i'm inside. And the coop is not far from outside our bedroom window (I'd say roughly 50 ft.). He is just tuning up tho, so he may get louder as time goes by. Both roos, Mylo and Otis, are friendlier than some of my other breed pullets.
