Ancona and magpie marked Call Duck Thread!

I know but she is not blue is any form of colour..It's actually Charcoal and then Black..Sent picture to breeder here and they call her Charcoal and black Magpie..I know I shouldn't of posted her...:th
"charcoal" isn't a color. It's a made up name for a color. Like how some people like to call lilac "mauve".
Blue is a dilution of black and that's what your duck is. The black bleed through is common on blue ducks in any breed.

I had a gorgeous silver magpie named Cupcake:

I just set more eggs from the same breeder so I'm hoping to get more magpies :)
She's a beauty!

Blue is a dilution of black. So some blues (any breed that comes in blue) can have black leakage. This is where black feathers sneak through the blue.

With anconas, you also find chocolate leakage in lilacs and sometimes lavenders also

I'm never going to learn all the call colors! :barnie

Always called Bacardi a silver, but he looks pretty close to blue magpie?? or silver magpie??

I am located in southern Maine so may not be far from you!
I will have eggs and ducklings for sale this spring once they start laying. These "mini anconas" are SO cute. I love them!
I also breed standard sized anconas if you end up looking for some. I have a few ducklings I hatched out new years day. I am going to grow them out a little before I decide if they are keepers or not. I can keep you in mind if you'd like if I end up selling any!
I know this thread is older, do you have any Ancona call ducks/ducklings or hatching eggs?
