So the 12th of April we got 12 ancona duck eggs.
its been 28 days since and so far two have hatched.
one hatched with no problems
the second one was trying to hatch and couldnt move very well, we finally found out he got stuck in the egg because his head got caught so we assisted carefully and peeled back some of the egg where his head was located and left him there to hatch. He finally hatched after getting his head out of the egg and his bottom was still in the egg. he finally crawled out and was still attatched to the egg by veins so i was kind of scared and my heart is still beating my head into the wall saying i assisted to early, but now hes up and trying to walk without the attatchment to the egg, there was no yolk that i know of the only stuff that came out with him was a small amount of yellowish green liquid thats kinda gooey but like 10% clear. Is that normal?
hes moving around pretty good right now.
Im pretty nervous.... i probably should be im sure someone is going to say i deserve to be nervous for assisting.
uhm....
any pointers in case this one doesnt make it.
hes kinda leaning all over the place.....
could he just be exhausted from trying to hatch but making very little progress because when he was trying to hatch he like was not even trying he would try but then he would stop and hed been doing that for like 24 hours. and the hole was not getting any bigger than a big marble
