Ancona Ducks

I just started finding eggs from my spring hatch girls. They might have been laying for a while, but I think my Anatolian is eating some of them.

Seriously tho, I would like to get an AS for home that I could also show .... even if I had to feel him a few eggs. Nothing can free-range here anyway just need a perimeter patrol....

I love that dog to pieces, so I can forgive a few eggs here and there. After the geese are all sorted for breeding season, I will be able to keep the ducks inside an extra hour or so, so I can get the eggs before she does. Its just too crazy right now to keep them locked up past sunrise.

Are you looking for eggs or ducklings? Boondockers in Oregon got Holderread's Ancona flock and they sell ducklings, but not until spring. Coyote Night Acres or Worth It Farms both sell eggs.

This is my first Ancona! I am sorry the picture isnt great. I just got him today. He is a "Rust" Ancona! He is gorgeous. His body looks like a mixture of red, brown, and blue, and his head is black. I cant wait to find some ducks to go with him. But for now I am sure him and the pekin hen will make gorgeous babies!
