Are you looking for eggs or ducklings? Boondockers in Oregon got Holderread's Ancona flock and they sell ducklings, but not until spring. Coyote Night Acres or Worth It Farms both sell eggs.

Worth it Farms and Boondockers both ship ducklings. We are hoping to start sometime this year. We have the incubator for it now, but need to get all the state permits before we can ship.

Here is my trio of Bantam Anconas! I absolutely love the colour! Plus they are very freindly birds! I have some eggs due in a few days time.

Thanks for the information..All of my ducklings have black eyes and white breasts, so I guess I won't be winning any prizes.

This is a detail of a postcard photo. I know from the label on the card that it was taken in Alfred ME, and from the woman's clothing in the photo the date would be circa 1900-1915. Are these Ancona Ducks and a goose? Mutts? I'm not a poultry/waterfowl person, I'm an illustrator doing some research for a history project. I found your website and decided to write to see if I could get some opinions. The patterning of the plumage looks closest to that of an Ancona, but the ALBC & Feathersite, etc., report a more recent history for this breed in the USA.

They look like Ancona to me. The spots can be anything from practically none to almost covered...but they are not uniform at all. And these ducks are randomly spotted like mine are, so I think you are correct.

They could be mutts. You can replicate the Ancona pattern relatively easily. I see several "tricolors" which means they lack the Extended Black gene that gives the splotchy markings this breed is known for. It is a recognized color though, so there's really no way to know for sure. They do make you wonder. Excellent photo!

To order the Ancona breed guide from Holderread you just mail in an order form with it and a check/money order...?

Sorry, my generation has never had to do anything but online, and at worst, phone ordering, haha.
