Ancona Ducks

Pics
I was looking for ducklings as I haven't mastered the egg incubator yet lol I'd prefer that they were a medium, I think that would match along good with my Pekins. I was gonna start off with a few but I plan to breed them for conservation. I don't really care for any of the colors. I've seen pictures of them all and I like the black and the chocolate Anconas. I'm sure I will end up loving all the colors but for now I'd like to start off with the black and chocolate ones. I've also read that there is a website called estes hatchery.com I was wondering if they are a good site to purchase from? I also heard that they will sexed the Anconas which I know the few that i've looked at won't.

Well I received my eggs today from WOWSA farm.. I ordered 12+ ancona hatching eggs and received 12. One cracked during shipping so I have 11 now in the incubator.

Is it okay that I put in pieces of a sponge next to 2 of the eggs so that it's a tighter fit and will not roll around with the turner?

I don't know anything about Estes, but I try to stay away from hatcheries (except for Metzer Farms or Holderread's), because I want to be sure of what I'm getting.

Where are you located? You might be able to find a breeder close to you.

I've never heard of Estes, so I don't know anything about them either. They are certainly the first I've seen that will sell them sexed. We are working on it, but I'm better with rabbits and snakes than ducklings and chicks. Black and chocolate are luckily easy to find. That what most people have. Plus, once they are adults, you can make sex-linked babies. Let us know you general location and we should be able to find you a breeder with more quality stock than you'd receive from a hatchery.

yes its the brinsea octagon 20.. i bought it from Strombergs for like 254 or something.. it has the autoturn cradle but doesnt have the digital hygrometer on the top like the more expensive ones do lol.. i purchased one on amazon thats low 8% humidity after i did the salt test lol but so far i love the octagon.. very easy and now with eggs in the humidity is easier to achieve
