Ancona Mix Duckling Traits

I'm definitely seeing ancona in it. Not sure what it's mixed with but definitely ancona!

I’m so interested to see what happens once he/she starts feathering out. Will that black stay black or will it have a sheen of another color? Same with the yellow...will it go white or turn out some other lighter pattern?!

The anticipation is killing me haha

Yes the yellow will turn white. And my black ancona does have a very pretty almost teal speckled coloring on it's tail and wings.

Ok soo I’m getting a feeling this duckling may not have Ancona in it. I’m starting to get a suspicion that there’s Cayuga in him/her (leaning towards him) I feel like today I got a glimpse of a green sheen on its head. I believe the duckling is 6 or 7 weeks old (it’s bigger than my confirmed 5 weekers) but still only getting peeps out of it.

Here’s a picture I took last week. I’ll try and get a good recent pic and post.

It's a Magpie coloured Duckling but can be a pure Ancona crossed with another breed of Duck..Very cute...

There is definitely no telling what is all in it. You will never know for sure.

My purebred black Ancona has a nice green sheen to it as well. It's actually very common with black anconas.

Common but not wanted actually..Drakes should definitely hold the colour of his body on his head too..

Really? I had read that the beetle green sheen was actually considered a keeper trait???
