7 weeks today.

Last time I tried to check I didn't see any bars on the suspects' wings. But today, on two different occasions, I thought I could see bars on Blue-Band Cockerel's neck when he sat in the sun.

🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️

This is why I wanted Assorted White Layers when I couldn't get the Delawares instead of Assorted Brown Layers.

My birds from Welp are healthy and vigorous, but I do not like having to order this many at once and having to take them in units of 5 of a kind.

Here he is again (pay no attention to the photobombing barred rock).

Any suggestions on getting clearer photos of active, healthy chicks who don't stand still to be photographed? I could pull individuals out of the pile at night, but I don't know if the phone's flash would give me accurate representations of the colors.

Sure it's not wire-shadow?

Yes, because he was the only one showing that pattern.

Pretty sure I see very light barring in his hackles. Either way, at 7 weeks that's a cockerel.

I've been sure he was a boy from about 2-3 weeks. :D The first comb to pop up in the batch (I *think* that all 5 of my straight runs plus at least one more, maybe 2, are cockerels).
