OK....so I've done my dutiful homework on Angel wing, how to recognize it and how to wrap the wing. What I don't know is "Hiow do I know if I've taped her wing/body to tight?
I actually purchased this precious little lady (girl I hope) fir a companion for my little, almost 6 wk old Cayuga. I picked her out if a bunch of ducklings that were 6-7 wk old about a week and a half ago & this condition seems to be getting worse. I notice something was a little strange when I picked her out and after a call to the previous owner, she informed me that it sounded like Angle wing. We adored her too much to return her, so now we need to try and fix her.
We had wrapped her wing to her body with vet tape from a feed store, but after watching her flailing around in her indoor box, I just had to remove the tape. I sure wish there waa soneone local that could help with the taping.
So......My question to ya'all is: Hiw do you know if the tape is too tight and whether or not theres a few hints, like a dogs collar needs ti be loose enough to slide two fingers undet the collar?
I would appreciate any help/advise about this subject.
