Angel Wing?

Do green veggies count? He loves fresh green beans and I can throw in some peas too....

Sure. My ducks are hooked on peas too

Q is such a good duck..... left his wrap on all night.

He did get a little poo on it (pooped, then came back later and laid down in it)

So I changed it this morning. He immediately flapped his wings, and when he pulled them back in, one was still sticking straight out, the other he wiggled back up underneath the right way. Now I KNOW I'm not getting immediate results like that, and if I left the wrap off it'd probably flop back out, but it was nice to see him holding it correctly for a minute.

Less than 48 hours and there is significant improvement in his wings. I took the wrap off (change it a few times a day) this evening and let him stretch, preen, and breathe for a while. They look great! He is holding them correctly..... one slips every now and then but he wiggles it back up into place on his own. I'm leaving the wrap off for a couple hours as long as he is holding them well, so he can preen all those nasty pin feathers coming in. You could see the sheer pleasure in his eyes as he got ahold of those feathers.

You're so lucky he's being so good about it. It seems like I've read a lot of posts where people say their ducks just won't stand for it. He's lucky to have such a good Quackmire.

Q has done really well with the wrap, and a week later he is holding his wings correctly, the flight pis no longer point outward.

However.

When he is sleeping, very relaxed, the one wing does 'pop out' a bit, and the feather shafts stick straight up in the air, instead of resting against his body. When he wakes up, sometimes he flits them back into place, sometimes he doesn't. When he doesn't, they hang lower, and on the 'outside' of his secondaries.

Do I need to wrap longer? I have pictures, waiting for them to upload....

If he is being cooperative, you might want to leave him wrapped a little longer. If they don't totally flatten though, no biggie. He just wont fly very well, but it wont hurt him.

I agree wrap him again! It starts like a bad habit, Just holding the wing wrong. but if you leave it un treated that joint will develope that way and then there is no fixing it. safe vs sorry
