Angeline: the Bad Bun Chronicles

Pics
I trimmed Angeline's nails today. Started with her front paw and she behaved perfectly... And then I trimmed one too short. 🤦 It's hard to see where the quick is with her darker nails. I'll probably grab a flashlight next time and shine it from behind before I cut just to get an idea where the quick ends. I ended up making a little bunny burrito with a towel so she couldn't get away from me and trimmed the rest.

Ya, dogs and rabbits speak very different languages. They can coexist but only with understanding on both parts. Any curious advance on te rabbits part translates to "hello, play?" And any curiosity on the dogs part translates to "yummy little bunny hold still while I get my mouth closer to you." So the rabbit will always run and the dog will always chase, terrible communication skills between the two.

Try using the netting from onions or oranges to clip nails. I fold it once or twice, wrap it around the paw and only nails pop out, no fur gets in the way.

A flashlight or your phone light can help. I also recommend the “press, press, clip” technique. Press the clippers firmly against the nail twice before actually cutting through it. If bunny flinches or jerks away from the press, you may be too close to the quick and should readjust.

@CSAchook Thanks for giving me an everlasting earworm. I literally sing "What's this?" to Angeline every time I let her out of her cage and she starts exploring. 🤦😂

AND SHE HAD BEEN SO GOOD😭
Good as far as what I have posted on here. 🤭 She has also chewed the bottom of the kitchen cabinets and ripped open any plastic bags she can reach just to see what's inside. "What's this? What's this?"
Not to mention chasing the cats if they swipe at her.
