Definitely make a report with the sheriff, and tell them how you found the roped goat? Do use one or more game cameras. The motion detectors with loud alarm sound great too. Anyone stealing wants to get in and out as quick as they can without causing commotion. Tho your un-subs surely know there are no people around to hear them. Hang on to the rope anyway - gee now they'll have to get another one. They also know you likely found it and know its humans stealing and not animals. That may scare them off for awhile while they contemplate what you plan to do about it ( like lie in wait for them with guns.

The world sure has enough creaps who's only purpose in life is pilferring what others worked so hard to acquire. Maybe you should put up a few big posters quoting the Texas law about stealing animals and the penalty.

Boy this makes me mad. Hope they get caught soon.

1) All young stock taken = nicer on the table

2) LGDs roam a bit, at least my friend's LGDs do. They sailed right over her stock fencing. All I can think of is that they're assessing potential threat in the area.

Might actually be human AND coyote, but some remains should be under a bush somewhere. Maybe ranger &/or Josie can sniff around with you tomorrow? Keep us posted

Maybe they tied one goat up while trying to get another, and something "spooked" them.

The rope looks like the goat was Lasooed, how every you spell that, and then the rope sliped and the goat got away...

Just a small update... With the new locks we have... nothing has been missing... The signs we are having made will be ready by the end of the week or monday the latest... were getting 3 signs made... one for each entrance and one for the Main gate...
