Guardians of Ga'Hoole series has a little

Mmkay, so Frostblood is pretty bloody, and Jewel and Thorn has a murder at the end. Narnia has a war in it. In Down the Mysterly River, one of the characters gets stabbed, poor fellow. Redwall series has several wars, along with some gypsies and stuff. But I would say that Guardians of Ga'Hool has the most bloodshed. None of these are as bad as Warriors.

My favs are Down the Mysterly River and the Animorphs series. And your parents grew up with Birth of the Firebringer, Watership Down (which has blood in it that I forgot to mention), and The Black Stallion series.

Oh, and Holes, The Secret Garden, and War Horse are all classics.

These are all pretty mild. I started one book and let me tell you. There is a whole nother level of gore out there. I wouldn't recommend these to you if they weren't recommendedable.
