Anime and chickens!? Does it mix!?

I got into manga (I've always dabbled in anime) about a month ago, and ended up buying roughly 300 manga in a two week span. In order of favorites:

1. Naruto
2. Berserk
3. Bleach
4. One Piece
5. Shaman King

I still have the full set of Black Cat and Death Note that I need to read. I bought my wife Nana, Tramps Like Us (Kimi No Petto), Nodame Cantabile, and Honey & Clover to see if I could get her hooked... she wasn't as impressed as I.

I need to finish Black Butler and Im looking for more. I have the urge to watch Death Note over again.

How is Black Butler, anyway? I've wanted to check that one out.

I have GoSick, Tales of the Abyss, Sora no Otoshimoto, and a bunch more on my waiting list. The "My Website" link leads to my anime list, where you can find a bunch of ones I want to watch.

Its good I have the first Manga and have watched to episode 13.

Just wondered if there's any Anime/manga fans around here. If so I have a few questions! Oh and any Roleplayers lurking around here?

What got you into Anime/Manga?
List your favorite Anime('s)/Manga('s)?
Do you prefer American Cartoons or Anime?

Ouran Highschool Host Club, Fruits Basket, Soul Eater, Black Butler.
I say Anime's are more complex than our cartoons.

So post away!!

I don't do any roleplaying, LARPing, etc., but I have been known to go in costume to Renaissance festivals.

I got into anime when I was in high school; Digimon was on TV when I was channel cruising, and I was like, "What the heck is this?" I started researching about anime and watching more of it, and found it wasn't the usual American children's cartoon drivel. I have always been a huge fan of science fiction and fantasy novels, and got into anime because it reminds me of the books I like. It tells a story.

Favorite animes o' the moment: Rurouni Kenshin, InuYasha, Noein, X'amd: Lost Memories, various Miyazaki movies (especially My Neighbor Totoro). Basically, I'll watch anything once unless it's really gruesome or X-rated. Lately, I've just been watching whatever is available on Netflix streaming. They have a great selection.

I definitely prefer anime over anything American-made, though the remake of Thundercats is pretty awesome. I have very low patience for childish American stuff like Spongebob. I need an epic story to hook me in and keep me watching, or I'll get bored.

That's awesome!! -^^- Nice to meet you fellow Anime watcher! :)

I grew up hating anime...and now I'm addicted to it. I got into the crazier/more random stuff through a movie that was actually so good it is one of only two movies that have made me cry and is one of Roger Ebert's favorites. "Grave of the Fireflies".

But heck yes, Fruits Baskets, High School of the 'Darned', Elfen Lied, Kimba, Claymore, less popular series and movies. The only ones I can't seem to get into are the series that everyone else seems to love, like Bleach, Naruto, etc. And Netflix keeps trying to make me watch Lupin the Third. Bad Netflix, bad!

Hi everyone! I am new to the site but love raising chickens. As far as Anime go, I agree with Achickenloverproduction in regards to Anime being more complex than cartoons. I really enjoyed Spice and Wolf, Blood, Claymore, Noein, Hell Girl, Death Note. Way too many more, I spend too much time watching some series.
